We will provide you with beach towels and there are facilities at the retreat house for washing and drying your towels which you are free to use. This retreat was inspired by a book called 'Blue Mind' by marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols - written about the remarkable effects of water on our health and well being. Even just being near to the water has an almost immediate and profound effect on us - we recommend this book highly, it is a good and interesting read for your blue minded retreat! Thalassa is the name of the Greek Goddess of the Sea, and is the inspiration behind our newest destination retreat. Join us on an island escape to the Ionian Sea and discover stunning clear waters like nowhere else, blue caves and views that will take your breath away. You will stay in our exclusive luxury villa perched above the sea with panoramic views and just 10 minutes from some of the most stunning beaches and swimming spots the area has to offer, eat delicious and freshly prepared meals made by our own chef using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, enjoy blissful yoga and meditation and of course daily trips to the sea where you are free to enjoy the water (and sun!) in whichever way you choose - It's your retreat... The Salt Sisterhood Thalassa Retreat, Greece A Womens Yoga & Swim Retreat YOGA We will practice yoga and meditation sessions each day. Your teacher and host will guide you through these practices with a compassionate approach, always encouraging you to rest when you need to and look after your body - be kind to yourself! It does not matter how much or how little yoga you have practiced before, your teacher will be there to guide you through the alignment of the postures and hold space for your practice. This is your retreat, so if at any point you feel you would rather rest or take part in another activity at the villa then you are free to enjoy your time however you wish to. ​ SWIM TRIPS Each day of our retreat we will discover a new and stunning swimming spot in the local area. Transport will be provided and our swim guide and qualified lifeguard will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and to make your swims both safe and fun. We will provide you with beach towels and there are facilities for washing and drying your towels which you are free to use. Our retreat was originally inspired by a book called Blue Mind by marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols - written about the remarkable effects of water on our health and well being. Even just being near to the water has an almost immediate and profound effect on us. ​ FOOD Our in-villa retreat chef will prepare 3 healthy and delicious vegetarian meals per day using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. On your day of arrival there will be dinner and on your departure day there will be breakfast for our final meal all together. We happily cater to your individual dietary requirements - just let us know. Our retreat chef will be available in an open kitchen setting so you can feel free to chat with them anytime and maybe even glean a few tips and recipes! GETTING THERE The nearest airport to our retreat house is approximately 40 minutes drive away. EasyJet fly direct from London Gatwick Airport several times per week. The spacious outdoor terraces are dotted with comfy daybeds, sun loungers and bean bags giving you plenty of spaces to relax and unwind. Our beautiful heated infinity pool with its floating sunbeds has incredible views of the sea and neighbouring islands, while the jacuzzi whirlpool is the perfect spot to enjoy a sundown. "I had a wonderful experience with The Salt Sisterhood at their first Portugal retreat and would highly recommend it! Very well organised with great camaraderie and a relaxing, rejuvenating vibe. The villa and swim spots were obviously very carefully chosen and varied, as well as absolutely beautiful. Yoga was a perfect blend of classic poses and some new and fun experiences.
